Diversity and Inclusion

The Duke Physician Assistant Program strives to develop professional and talented students, faculty, and staff through an environment of diversity and inclusion.

Duke University Institutional Statement of Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Duke aspires to create a community built on collaboration, innovation, creativity, and belonging. Our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideas—an exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes. To achieve this exchange, it is essential that all members of the community feel secure and welcome, that the contributions of all individuals are respected, and that all voices are heard. All members of our community have a responsibility to uphold these values.

Student Activities

The Duke PA program is committed to providing events and resources for students that focus on inclusion and celebrating the diverse talent pool from which they were selected. With the help of the student-run Diversity Committee, the PA program provides events such as lunch-time discussion series on discrimination, disability, and transgender health, offers multicultural potlucks, privilege walks, discussions with members of the U.S. Military, takes part in the Moral March on Raleigh, and celebrates Multicultural Awareness Month in March.
