Population Health Milestones in Graduate Medical Education

Duke Community and Family Medicine is part of a multi-organizational team that has raised the visibility of population health in medical training through the creation of population health milestones.

Through a project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through a grant program administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges and with funding from the Fullerton Foundation, the team identified population health content in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education milestones for physicians, created generic population health milestones that can be used across disciplines, and identified materials and assessment tools to support the teaching of population health.
